Sold Fisker shares today
Reworked my entire portfolio today which included selling some Fisker shares. Back to holding it only in my IRA account. Bracing for even higher rates next week. Time will tell if this was a good/bad decision.
@remichex Thanks, I want to be transparent. If I mention the buys, I need to mention the sells (which was at $7.37/share). I owned way to many shares and my other stocks are down so much I needed to reallocate. I also raised some cash today too in the event stocks go lower. Probably the most prudent thing I could have done today. That way I can 100% pay for my Ocean One! 🤣
@seancallahan I hear you. Also, earnings are coming up the first week of November. I have been selling covered calls on 1,500 shares I own so collecting premium now while it's down. Chase doesn't allow me to buy puts so I may need to get a new broker that would allow protection on the downside while selling calls on the upside.
@rearviewmirror Yeah, I have the ability to buy covered call options in my regular account, but not IRA. Covered calls are good to generate income. However, premiums are so low though for Fisker call options unless you go out to 2023. If you go out that far you could totally cap your upside, but at least you get income. My IRA is still 100% in Fisker. Set it and forget it. Unfortunately, I can't do that with my regular account as the income generated from dividends is what I live on. I always hate selling for a loss. I'm going to sit and wait for a few weeks. I will revisit Fisker shares in my regular account in November between earnings and official start of production. If/when I buy shares back I'll create another post. It's likely I will.
