Hello Dear All,
At first, of course I don't have enough geographically information about 64k Fisker Ocean reservation but it seems people overrate the US homologation and they are putting in position such as it is more important than EU, I am sure this is wrong...
Let me explain why,
EV sales number in US is less than even only Germany, forget other countries in E.U, just Germany is bigger market than US for Fisker...
And if you consider how many countries are in European Union, it is clear that in EU there is multiple time sales potential than US
Hopefully we will have sufficient production numbers tomorrow and hope Magna Steyr won't fail about the ramp up the production with good numbers, at least close the targets
Just we should consider that with good marketing, EU orders should and will be enough for the ramp up serial production, US will come after of course...
Better to don't OVERRATE the US market for EV sales, EU is much much bigger market and factory is in Austria, so it is not necessary to became panic because of delay of US homologation
For being honest as a long time Fisker's stock investor, recently falling is disturbing me like every long shareholder, but I believe that in long time we will all win, this is just for short period and after production ramp up we will turn back to real market cap. soon.

While Fisker has a dual-homologation strategy, maybe people focus more on the US market because the company is based in Los Angeles, CA. As an American company, maybe people expect US consumers to be served first. However, as you mentioned, Europe could be a more valuable market for Fisker.

Thanks for that point of view, it does make sense. With an overseas factory it only makes sense that the locations closest to the factory would be served first.

Not sure your data is correct. EU total EV sales in 2022 was 1.58 million. US EV sales in 2022 was 807k. Total German passenger vehicle sales of all types was 832k. YTD 2023 (through first quarter) US EV sales are estimated by Cox Automotive at 225k. Germany was 94k.

Nonetheless, the EU will still probably sell close to twice as many EVs in 2023 than US does.
(Note I am not counting PHEVs which are not real EVs, are declining by 45% yoy in Germany now that they are no longer being subsidized and are about to go very high in US now that they are being ridiculously subsidized by the Joe Manchin help toyota provisions of the IRA.)
@bayoubob US numbers increased pretty much in 2022, it is 762k in 2022, not 832k… And yes, if you won’t consider PHEV, US market might be slightly bigger than German market but still complete EU market is much much bigger market and factory is in Austria…
