I read an article about the American company QuantumScape (QS) which has developed solid-state batteries that have been highly successful in its tests. The advantage of these packs is that you're able to pack more cathodes in smaller pack(s) allowing more travel. Other benefits allow for a quicker charge, and less of a fire risk, and unlike today's batteries, there's no need to worry about colder environments due to its internal chemistry. Prices of solid-state batteries are also said to be a lot less expensive. Given these factors, I think Henrik should consider teaming up with QuantumScape for the Pear as both would greatly benefit and so will the consumer. Hopefully, QS will deliver these when the Pear is ready for production in 2025.

@evan1 As an investor in QuantumScape since before their SPAC, I would love to see this happen, however, QS will not have a market-ready battery until well after the PEAR is in production. Maybe an option for the 2nd generation Ocean.

Would love to see a solid state battery in the Pear (faster charging times, higher energy density, longer lifespan, and safer.). But even though some companies say they have it figured out, I am very skeptical that they have. I would doubt we see one in a car in the next 5 years. Just sourcing and scaling the batteries up for production will probably take that long, even longer for Economies of Scale to start to take effect. 😞 But Nasa is working on them too, so I guess you never know. lol
