I sent a question to the Radgivers, asking if the Configurator as now seen was accurate in offering the retractable cargo cover and expanding cargo organizer as extra-cost options for the Extreme, because those things are included in the November SOP press release as standard features for the Extreme. I received this response:
The configurator is our most current pricebook for the Fisker Ocean features, packages, and options. Now that we are opening orders, one can attach the features to their order.
All previous publications had a disclaimer that it was subject to change.
The "previous publication" in question states:
Pricing is subject to change and will be calculated when you place your order and will further depend upon specifications and options chosen by you as you configure your actual vehicle closer to production.
That disclaimer does not state that the list of standard features for a given trim is subject to change. So either the person answering did no research whatsoever into my question and just pasted a pat answer about pricing, or else the November SOP document can no longer be trusted and anything they want can be removed and made optional at extra cost.
I've sent a clarification response to their reply asking whether this means that any standard features or accessories might suddenly be made optional at extra cost, and asked to have a supervisor review the answer before it's given. Will post any followup I receive. it took them 4 days to get back to my original asking with the above response.
Keep dreaming for a sensible answer 🤣
Remember when they said 22inch wheel on the Extreme was stamdard. Ha ha ha they took it away.
Remember when they said Extreme has all the features... Then slowly one by one they take away the colour option, the interior option and wheel option and now these options... And making us pay more.
This is what I mean by "Fisker lying"...or more correctly economical with the truth. How can you say 22" wheels are included and then remove it.. under the guise of "subject to change". Yes something may be... But I think they are using this as a carte blanche excuse.
Don't worry, they'll probably change more things.
I do remember all that, and I was in a reservation before the wheels were taken away. But back then the feature list was clearly documented as subject to change. The feature list in the SOP documentation is not supposed to be fluid unless/until they issue a revision to that documentation, which would presumably be done for the start of year 2 orders where they also adjust prices.
If they do come back and say that anything in the SOP feature list for year one is removable without warning, my confirmed Extreme order will be in jeopardy, and won't be replaced with an Ultra order since I would then lose all hope of getting the pre-IRA tax credit. I'm wondering anyway if it's the best time to sink that kind of capital into an EV since better/cheaper battery technologies like solid state or sodium are likely just around the 3 year corner.
I do fully expect that some "expected activation" dates will slip for more difficult OTA-delivered features, possibly by a year if not more. While that is mismanagement and over-promising, it's not lying if those promises don't slip indefinitely. They should not assume that Tesla's example (FSD) equally applies to them. After all, most of us are here b/c Fisker is not Tesla, and if the differentiation starts to fade, the world doesn't need another Tesla.
Wait until when you have to replace the 22 inches tires.... instead of 20 inches, you might see things differently
For what it is worth imho the extreme is competitively priced if you extricate the MY and M3! Compare the extreme to a lucid pure or touring, the Rivian R1T or R1S, or BMW I4. We are Definitely getting a “one” and if we like it we will proceed with our order for the extreme. We are losing our 1k deposit on the lucid touring and passed on the Rivian R1T ( sister bought it). If the extreme is not right for you, you definitely should pass!
@fibrepunk No 22" wheels in my build. Back when 22" was included on the Extreme, I was pretty much a not-more-than-Ultra buyer. I only became an Extreme order when the pre-IRA order confirmation offer sold out the Ultras before I could confirm, and I wasn't in the mood to wait another year for a car. It's taken some time to get used to the concept of a $70K car, so if the value provided for $70K continues to decline or the IRA rebate is in question, I may have to adjust my timeline with a reservation of something else. A similar range similarly priced similar performance SUV with post-IRA refund will likely debut within a year, and this is even more likely if I end up getting the Extreme.
@drshahali10 You keep going on and on about this. Yes, they had included 22" wheels on the Extreme for about a week and a half last year - it was 20" the entire time before then and then it went back to 20". Why do you think color choices is a "feature"? Or an interior finish is a "feature"? Other than the 22" wheels which was on the site for a short time, what else where they offering on the Extreme that they have removed?

Yep, the retractable cargo cover and expanding cargo organizer are still(since nov 9) in the latest press kit (twice) as standard features on Extreme. I hope Fisker does the right thing and just corrects the configurator.

So from a price standpoint I built our planned extreme exactly how I wanted it and the price is about 5K more than the "one" we have locked in. Red Planet, Black Abyss (yes I could have gotten sea salt and white linen-which would have been more money--but for this vehicle I will get EXACTLY what I want) 22" wheels the seats all the accessories (same as that included with the "one"). From the beginning weren't we told that the "one" would have about $5K worth of extra features, if I built the extreme to match the one it would be about $8500 more???
It took until today to get their next response, which was not what any of us would have hoped to hear. At the price level of the Extreme a retractable cargo cover would be included on almost any other vehicle, and is on many that sell for far less. This has reduced the probability that I'll go through with an Extreme order, and if anything else that was advertised as standard becomes optional by the time I'm asked to confirm a build, I'll walk away for certain. Otherwise Fisker needs to knock this thing out of the park if they hope to keep my confirmed order on the books.
Hi Carl,
We understand that you are basing your information based off the SOP press kit. Please note, that we are informing you that the Cargo Cover and Expanding Cargo Organizer are not offered as a standard feature on the Extreme, Ultra and Sport.
The disclaimer that you described explains what happened for these two accessories. After careful consideration, the options were removed and are now optional for the price that you see on the configurator.
We have begun opening Extreme orders and the options that you see on the configurator are the most up-to-date offerings that we have. The Extreme is our highest trim and we maximized its value by making all available software packages standard.
We understand that this situation may be frustrating to you, but we hope that you can review everything available to the Extreme to make an informed decision.
Sincerely,
The Fisker Team
@carlh we are talking pennies for these items---I stick by my position, if the Extreme (or any other vehicle for that matter) is not right for you for any number of reasons--you should walk away. I walked away from the Lucid Touring leaving $1K on the table as bothersome it is for me leaving $1K on the Lucid table , walking away was the right decision for me.
@nofrunk If this is "pennies" why would Fisker go to the trouble of making a thing optional at extra cost when previously it was included, along with the attendant fallout when called out in public about it? Something that's supposed to be pennies for me is fractions of pennies for the company.
And this is getting to be a pattern. I was willing to overlook feature drops or things made optional, like the 22" wheels, before there was black and white making it clear in detail what's included and what isn't. Silly me, why should I believe whatever might be written in the press release? You can bet there's going to be more obfuscated price increases coming, instead of them being honest by coming right out and saying "we have had to raise the price of the vehicle in order stay profitable in the light of increased supplier, staffing, and manufacturing costs". At least then the disclaimer, which I do not accept as applicable to the standard-features-are-now-optional tactic, would apply.
Finally, this isn't so much about the pennies as it is about ethics and trust. Can you put the same trust in the warranty and service promises that you did before, knowing that something may be rescinded or become extra cost when it becomes financially inconvenient for the company to provide it for free? I see this company now as one that might do whatever they think they can get away with. They will keep testing how far they can go until there's a class action lawsuit.
And that is not the type of company I want to reward with my business. Still, I'm willing to overlook this covert price increase if the vehicle is EVERY bit the vehicle that's been promised from a quality, range, features, and performance standpoint. Should they try this price-increase tactic again before I'm locked in for $1000, I will walk away on principle, not because the Ocean is or isn't the right vehicle. This camel's back won't accept another unanticipated penny.
And something to look out for - as unlikely as it seems, I put nothing beyond them now. They could try to lock-in Extreme orders before production One's have been received or independently reviewed. Should they try that, I'll put off committing as long as possible and if they push me to make a decision or lose my place and $250 confirmed order deposit before reviews are in, I'm out.
@carlh Agree that is disappointing and not the expected answer. 😕 .. Based on this and other Radgiver reponses, it seems like they are also getting a bit fatigued from having to answer for inconsistencies and lack of clear specifications. Thank you for finding out that what is in the configurator is their position.

I call that click bait. At least click bait does not involve normal monetary transaction.
May be read a few more post below before commenting further See how far Fisker can take the Mickey... They are doing pretty well so far.
For those saying "walk away". You miss the point. I was lied to over and over again. If they did this before I put even a dime down, fair enough. They took that dime. They used that dime to raise more money by saying look how many paying registered reservations we have. They did that quarter in and quarter out. Even you must have read the pre order sales going up. They abused their position with their click bait. Now that everyone's all in they still won't show all their cards. My gut says they are a scam.. and won't last long. My gambler's brain says... Just wait.. just wait a little longer and you'll see they are going to be great.
The point is, some of you extolling the virtues of sustainable and all that... What's the point of this with a company that's comes across as shifty. That'll shaft you when they can and see a profit. That when warranty related issues happen will screw you over? May be they won't but with Fisker performance so far, forgive me if I have my reservations (no pun intended).
I was worried when Extreme orders are open I'd have to rush to order. With the economic climate.. the fact some of the £5000 one reservation holders situations have changed, I'm in no hurry. If they want to raise the price further.. be my guest. I'll order late as I doubt very much many of the £250 reservations holders will bite so easily. You have to remember with electricity costs and also insurance , it works out much cheaper to run a newer desiel or petrol for me.
I won’t be able to put the cargo cover in my garage, the spiders will be without a habitat.
I do agree on the value though. A Mercedes EQE SUV 350 middle trim comes in right at 80k. It’s slow at 0-60 in 6.3, but will likely be a much nicer car overall.
