My second favorite feature behind the SolarSky Roof is the Revolve screen. While Revolve simply rotates, if you read the patent awarded to Fisker, the software behind this is complex.

This morning the company sent out an email about Revolve that read:

When you’re parked and charging your Fisker Ocean, see how we’ve revolutionized “down time”. The exclusive 17.1-inch Revolve touchscreen has the power to swivel from a Control Mode – a portrait view - to Hollywood Mode – a landscape 16:9 widescreen format –  allowing you to enjoy movies and videos, complete with 360° sound, in an immersive cinematic experience. Turn charge-up time into movie time.

The usefulness of this screen all comes down to how you can get content to it. I have heard them say that there will be ~30 minute segments of content available to watch. What in the heck does that mean. You can only watch Fisker's curated 30 minute experiences? Or can you access popular streaming services? Do you need to have a connection to WiFi to do that? Can you cast content from your mobile device to the screen? Will you have to pay for these entertainment experiences? The answers to all of these questions and more will severely affect the usefulness of this screen. I really don't want this to just be a "show off moment" to my friends with no practical application...

@orionpax Touche. Apart from perhaps charging the car on a public charging location, when would you actually sit in your car to watch a hollywood movie on the revolving screen. I believe these are more novelties and show-off items instead of practical in nature.

Dont get me wrong I still want the Ocean Extreme / One.

I think the revolving screen would be a nice to have if it allows you to rotate it based on your preferred orientation for driving (portrait for North-South or landscape for East-West navigation for example).  For me personally, “Hollywood Mode” seems a bit of a gimmick which I doubt I’d use.  I have TV in my current car and have switched it on about 5 times in 3 years!

I think the only time I’ll be watching anything on the screen in landscape mode is in the garage after I’m kicked out of bed by my wife in the middle of the night (…let’s not get into details) or at a police parking.

Just a couple of weeks ago, on the news, a “poor” guy in his car, that stopped at a STOP sign, got a tap on the window. He was looking at a gun that was pointed at him; he had to get out and give up his car... not his life.

I cannot imagine myself, sitting in a gorgeous car, in any public place, (charging or not) “having to invite” an unwanted stranger to watch NETFLIX with me so that at one point he will tell me to "scram", unless I have with me a German Shepard, a Pit-bull or a Doberman, or all three, plenty of room in the Ocean; Lassie would have to be on the screen!!! 😡

I currently have a M3P and stream several hours of content multiple days a week while sitting at a job site.  I really hope you don't have to actually be charging to utilize the streaming services.  Based on the previously leaked UI there will be streaming services....

Henrik had posted in on Instagram about a month ago but quickly deleted.  Not much to see; fairly close up image and you could see a few boxes showing different streaming services; almost looked like an old Windows Mobile UI.
