Curious why it took so long for that PR to be issued. Did Fisker marketing just recently think about getting some free attention by asking Panasonic to put that out?

Wasn't it clear that I recognized that when I wrote "by asking Panasonic to put that out"? Clearly this is more of a promotion for Fisker than Panasonic, and so I imagine that Fisker marketing was involved.@carlh This was a Panasonic press release, not from Fisker

Very timely post. Just heard my sound system for the first time today and was disappointed. I’m praying the hardware is all there and a software update will help it reach its full potential. Thank you for sharing this article!

Perhaps this was done mainly to counter some of the chatter about the system having inadequate bass response. It's interesting how the speaker count of 15 is achieved, when Panasonic says 15 speakers and then says this:Wonder if there is an update coming? This 👇

Installed along the instrument panel are three 9cm PrecisionDrive® Carbon Fiber Coaxial speakers
while Fisker's site says this:
one of the most effective 6 speaker dashboard arrays of its kind
Apparently each of the dash coax speakers counts as two speakers in order to come up with the 15 speaker count. I am now less impressed with the number of speakers, since I consider a coax speaker as one speaker. So there's 3 in the dash, a woofer in each door, a tweeter in the headliner over each door, and the sub. Seems less impressive now that I know there aren't any rear surround speakers.

Yes, the bass or whatever they would call it, is terrible for a “premium” sound.

@jfwoodman The press release is completely in line with what we've known about the One/Extreme "Fisker Pulse" system to date, so I'm doubting that there's any upgrade or different hardware involved, it's just a bit of marketing noise.

I agree. My son's 2011 is300 has better bass than this car. But the clarity when it is turned high is very impressive.Yes, the bass or whatever they would call it, is terrible for a “premium” sound.

So do current Ocean One's already have this hardware?
I spoke to a Fisker executive on Friday about the collaboration - I was told there is no hardware change and all will be done by OTA.
