Just starting the process of lining up insurance for my FOO and am blown away on how expensive Insurance is for this vehicle.  2 quotes so far from Aviva and Desjardines and am looking between $3500 and $4000 per year with completely clean record.  Has anyone else from Canada started this process?  If so, what premiums are you seeing?  TIA

Wow, that's an eye opener. Will have to take that into account when estimating yearly gas savings. That eats up half of my estimated yearly gas savings, making the main reason for purchasing an Electric vehicle nearly moot. 😩

@mattyhu Jeezus! I wasn't expecting that much!

I currently have Desjardins now and been with them for a long time when they switched over from State Farm so I wonder if I can get it lower being insured with them basically since I was 16 yrs old when I first got my driver's license.

I'm going to email them and ask for a quote now.

Thanks for the heads up. Will post the numbers I get soon as well.

Seems extremely expensive. Same exact coverage as your previous car? Might want to make sure it is an apples to apples comparison and that the insurance provider(s) didn't throw in any additional coverage. What were you paying before?

@mattyhu hi Mat, so far I found premium between 1509$ and 2500. Best are National Bank, Sonnet, iA and Assurance Economical. I’m from Montréal

@mattyhu I got a reply but they just asked if I'm replacing my current vehicle which is a 2018 VW Tiguan 4Motion Highline (SEL) as to which I said yes but still no reply from that.

I'm worried it's also going to be astronomical. 🤨

Just did the online TD insurance quote from their website and it wasn't bad (For a Fisker Ocean Sport).  Came to $1974/year.

No recent tickets, claims, etc. But 20,000 km+ /year driving, used for commute etc.

@mycj7 not bad at all. I'm going to quote out an FOO on the TD site and see how much that is.

My current insurance with Desjardins is asking so many questions albeit the usual questions so it's taking them longer but at least it'll be an accurate quote. They're asking the usual questions such as: VIN (by any chance - I actually do have a VIN assigned from the Fisker site), winter tires Y/N, mileage/year, liability, collision/comprehensive, parked in garage, will it have same coverage as my current vehicle, etc.

Ok not bad. Approx. TD Insurance quote for the Fisker Ocean One is $2664/yr. 15k-20k/year driving, $1000 collision/comp, plan to get winter tires...

@seancallahan hi Sean. Asking for some help for SoCal owners. I just got a quote through the fisker site and I was quoted $10000 just for the FOO.alone. With all 3 cars it’ll be $20k. I almost choked on my food when I heard that! Are you able to share as to which company I can call to enquire. Apparently only Bristol..something is offering that.

Please advise as I don’t know a $20k annual insurance for the FOO is worth it for me!

@seancallahan no not Canada. Southern California—inland empire. Couldn’t find another thread re insurance. So jumped on the Canadian one instead. Is that crazy expensive or I’ve just at been having really cheap insurance all along? Please advise. Not sure if there’s any other companies that provide insurance for the FOO. Geico? Safeco? Any kind of co??? Help! Desperate

Not sure what site you're going through. I use GEICO and my insurance is about $1,375/year or thereabouts. I suggest shopping around as you are almost certain to find a better rate than what you are getting now. Also, try State Farm, Allstate, etc.
