Thanks for sharing this Sean! Can see a glimpse of the ambient lighting in the foot well there, akin to my M3. Hope the premium would allow for color change!

That lag from portrait to landscape on the screen still concerns me. My 10 year old android tablet is quicker than that…
Will I get my Fisker One delivered before my VW needs its 100K service?? The race is on..
and…… will we still get the $7500 tax credit? Only HF knows…

Every time I see that awful UI design and the horrible responsiveness my heart sinks. I am so devastated about this. It has completely transformed my enthusiasm into dread.

Your Android tablet is rotating at most two apps. This rotation involves 4 apps, and it's not just rotation, it's a switch to "Hollywood mode", so there's likely a warm restart involved in the early code that vehicle is running. Notice that not everything on screen before rotation is there afterwards.
@mag48 That's a good point, generating the landscape display could begin as soon as rotation starts rather than waiting until it's completed. Hopefully optimizing rotation is on the programming team's to-do list.
In short, it's premature to fall into despair about software-related behavior seen in these demonstrators. Wasn't that long ago that show cars either wouldn't rotate the screen at all, or only showed demo screens rather than functional ones!
