From reading the user's manual, there seem to be a number of things missing on the Ocean. I'll start with my list and add more. Some things may not be known at this point, so we may need to verify. I wanted to focus on software improvements since these are the ones most likely to be accomplished. Don't add ventilated seats, solar roof delete, or other hardware changes, etc.
1. Automated carwash mode since neutral gear changes to park when door opens
2. More music/video apps (e.g., Apple Music, SiriusXM Streaming, Plex, etc.); Allow Android Automotive app store
3. USB music for playing external devices (e.g., flash drive with MP3/FLAC/MP4). Create/Save on-board playlists
4. Following distance adjustment for Drive Control
5. Currently there is only one trip meter. Ability to track multiple (e.g., tires, trip1, trip2, etc)
6. Since there is no HomeLink, software button for Chamberlain’s myQ or other garage control
7. PIN protection on Boost Mode
8. PIN protection on Drive Modes (AKA valet mode)
9. PIN to drive
10 Disable car alarm from central touchscreen (e.g., enter six digit PIN in settings, enter on touchscreen when car is alarming to disable)
11. HVAC Pet Mode
12. Voice to Text
13. Voice Control (HVAC temp, fan speed, etc.)
14. Sentry Cam
15. Dash Cam
16. Bright Mode / Dark Mode / Auto for both displays
17. Customize Home screen tiles/sizes/font size
18. Selectable color themes
19. Screen to show energy consumption and collection from solar
20 Remember song history in Spotify
21. Option to drive car in landscape mode (possible solution: adjust/limit steering wheel position such as telescoping, up and down, to accommodate driving in landscape mode vs. portrait mode)
22. Put defroster buttons on the climate control section, in addition to the button bar
23. Contacts slow to load (possible solution: import and save contacts locally, then fetch contact list in background add/remove changes. No need to refresh entire contact list each time)
24. Access to Android Automotive App Store to download any apps
25. Use Google Maps or Waze instead of Tom Tom (or selectable mapping, this could also be done through additional apps)
26. Ability to add multiple driver profiles and save driver preferences (e.g., seat and steering wheel adjustments, driving mode, music services, etc.)
27. Way to adjust windshield wipers using central touchscreen (i.e., set speed and enable/disable rain sensing wipers)
28. One pedal driving
29. Hold when at a stop, instead of 2 seconds, prevent car from rolling back all the time
30. Sync calendar, set next appointment in navigation, and navigate to next appointment
31. API access to provide live data to ABRP (A Better Route Planner)
32. Remember Previously Used Drive Mode
33. Option in settings to lock the car and roll up the windows when the key fob is no longer nearby
34. Automatically shut off/power down the car after it is in park and key fob is no longer nearby (as opposed to locking the car with the key fob to “put the car to sleep”)
35. Add GPS navigation on dash, AUDI style
36. Access cameras in car remotely from Fisker app
37. Adjust HVAC fan speed separately for driver and passenger
38. Adjust cabin temperature from Fisker app
39. Set charging hours from Fisker app
40. App as key
41. Add 24 Amps in addition to 8/16/32 Amps for AC charging. This will allow a NEMA 14-30 EVSE to charge at max amp level
42. Wireless phone charging dock On/Off switch
43. Allow wider angle view for digital rear view mirror (if that is even possible software-wise)
44. Allow adjustment of radio/streaming volume when the navigation system is providing verbal cues
45. When driving, the driver's screen shows regen and energy going back into the battery pack. The transition is a bit jarring (flashing light). This needs to be made smoother and less distracting while driving.
46. Ability to automatically tilt side mirrors when in reverse
47. Ability to have car shut down without having to lock it
48. Show proximity sensors/camera options when moving forward slowly (currently have to put in reverse for sensors to show up)
49. Larger area on screen for 3D view/cameras
50. Ability to send addresses from other apps on the phone (eg. Google & Apple Maps)
51. Speed limit reminder near speedometer - currently on far right of center screen.
52. Add "Journey Log" Android Automotive App (Polestar)
53. HVAC Camp Mode
54. Ability to mute/lower volume of car alerts (if allowed)

The overhead button is for the liftgate window, not the powered hatch itself.

OK, happy to be learning all this now. I’ve never had weeks before delivery of a car to mull over the Owner’s Manual. Found this:

Yes, from the owner's manual, the door latch will only open the tailgate, not close it.

Well that’s a hell of a thing; maybe you press the Liftgate button again, while open, and it’ll close. Those directions must not be included in this version of the Operating Manual; hopefully just excluded from the manual.

I hope it's just a shortcoming of the manual. But they specifically mention to close you need to use the rear liftgate button or key fob.

The strange thing is there is a lot of information in the manual you can not reach from the table of contents but can be found with a search. The biggest one is ADAS. The only item found from the TOC is Parking Features, yet doing a search will have multiple results for various ADAS functions. My assumption is those functions are not yet available but the manual is already written for them.

I hope it's just a shortcoming of the manual. But they specifically mention to close you need to use the rear liftgate button or key fob.Actually, even the key fob doesn't close the liftgate. The section on closing the liftgate says just two methods:
When I saw that I went and looked at the section that talks about the key fob, and it agrees. The liftgate button on the fob is open-only.
Seems like Fisker doesn't want to be responsible for a power-closing liftgate injuring someone when closed by anyone who isn't standing right next to the liftgate.

Nice Sleuthing - I didn't notice that. In fact I didn't even try search yet.
I'll add these pages to the PDF directory.
