I've noticed that when uphill or even on an uneven/slightly sloped pavement, when I release my foot on the accelerator pedal (I'm in D gear), my car rolls back. Is this not a safety feature that this car should have? My wife has a 2019 Toyota Mirai and even our 2004 Toyota 4Runner have this feature. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, that is known and "normal".  Hopefully brake hold mode will be an OTA update soon to alleviate this issue.

Seems like a big miss. All I hear is wait for the OTA.

I test drive the car in Seattle last week and the roll back was very obvious.
For a vehicle at $60K+ and in 2023, hill assist should be a staple for a SUV (not asking for it in a sedan), why would I get an SUV if I don’t plan to go on trip in mountains???
Fisker needs to address the issue and provide transparency on their updates.

Auto-hold is coming soon.

@seancallahan Do you know if there is a tentative date ? In the past,  soon has meant an year or more.. could also mean never.

I emailed asking for confirmation on whether this is something that will actually be delivered, No response.

At the mid-August owner meetup we were told by the end of October 2023. With the testing required, it could be Q1 2024.

@seancallahan - What am I missing?  I didn't notice any "roll back" during my test drive but when I took my foot off the accelerator, I put my foot on the brake when I am stopped. The car didn't roll back when I had my foot on the brake. What am I missing?

You are missing the fact that you had the foot on the brake.  If you release the brake, the car will start rolling if it is on a slope.  It's mostly an issue for people that are used to their cars creeping.

@ttrinchi - So basically the car rolls back as would and did ALL manual cars?  I have seen some write that this is a safety issue, is not driving manual shifting cars then a safety issue on hills?

Are brakes and steering corrected by a software update only? Does the onboard computer have all the mechanical systems settings?

My Lightning stops fully when stopped brake or no brake.  It does not roll forward or backwards.  With the One I have to remember that when I slow to a stop as the regen braking turns off under 5 mph and the car will coast forward or roll backwards.
