Fisker looking to partner with traditional car company for increased production.

Today, Henrik Fisker announced ongoing discussions with five carmakers for a production capacity partnership, as reported by Reuters from Berlin. The U.S. electric vehicle startup is actively negotiating with these carmakers to secure additional production capacity for its nearly-ready vehicles. The company pipeline of electric vehicles includes the Fisker PEAR compact crossover SUV, Alaska pickup truck, and RŌNIN convertible GT supercar.

Henrik Fisker, the CEO, expressed the urgency, stating, “We have two cars that are almost ready. We can bring them to market fast – we just need the capacity.” Fisker also revealed that, in May, the company explored partnerships with various entities, including suppliers and tech companies, to scale up production. On Thursday, he disclosed ongoing negotiations with five “traditional car companies” and anticipated finalizing a partnership in the coming months. However, he didn’t mention any car companies by name.

Reuters also reported Henrik Fisker’s confidence in Fisker’s path to profitability. The Chairman & CEO shared that his company is expected to report a double-digit margin this year. This aligns with Fisker’s annual forecast of an 8-12% gross margin for 2023. This announcement follows a delay in the company’s quarterly earnings report, attributed to the finalization of financial statements and associated disclosures for Q3 2023, coinciding with a planned departure of the company’s Chief Accounting Officer. We’ve offered an earnings preview for Q3 2023. Now, we wait for quarterly results to be released on Monday after the market close.

@seancallahan - Seems to be excellent news that the company is not only doing well but looking to expand due to the interest in Fiskers. This should make all us happy that this car company is here to stay.

@gregory-a-lee We would have likely heard this update, and the NYC Lounge update, if the Q3 2023 conference call went ahead as planned yesterday. Now we wait for Monday to roll around...

This.

Why does no one talk about THIS.

Rivian, Polestar, all those guys don't have those margins, they have - margins.

This is something I do not understand.

LOL

Standby for bad news from the earnings call. Every time Fisker talks up future plans without any specifics or timelines it is followed with terrible news.

I feel like I am a domestic violence victim in my relationship with Fisker.

I expect bad news too. Fisker will probably announce that they will miss the already twice lowered production target for 2023 again. I expect 8000-15000 produced cars for FY 2023. 8 months ago, Fisker told us, that they will build 42,400 Ocean this year. What a disaster.

And yeah: two cars are almost ready. But Henrik Fisker has absolutely no clue, where and how to produce these. The production of the PEAR should originally start in 2024. Then early in 2025. The news from today just means that this will be once again delayed. And what is the result of this "great" news? Of course once again a new all time low for Fisker shares. Probably penny stock before the end of the year. If Henrik Fisker wants to save Fisker Inc. then he should immediately step down as CEO and present a capable CEO.

@nauchance - Then why don't you walk away as some domestic violence victims do?  Domestic violence victims seek counseling and help.  Others like to wallow in their misery.

Last week there was a police escorted cybertruck spotted pulling into Fiskers headquarters. Looks like Tesla might be one of the 5 automakers. https://twitter.com/exzacklyright/status/1720201358106874327?s=46&t=AzIN0gyfAyk9a7v0wTisbQ
