Fisker Alaska EV Truck: How Would You Build It?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Alaska will share underpinnings with the Endurance and will be built by Foxconn on the same line where it builds the Endurance truck and in the same factory where Fisker has already contracted for the PEAR. You can see Foxconn's strategy to focus Lordstown on fleet vehicles (which is its exclusive market anyway for now) and let Fisker run with the retail model. 

As for the competition...

Different Size Class:

• Chevy Silverado EV
• GMC Sierra EV
• Dodge RAM EV
• Ford F-150 Lightning
• Tesla Cybertruck
• GMC Hummer EV
• Atlis XT => low survival probability

Others:

• Rivian R1T => Premium competition
• Toyota Tacoma EV =>not holding my breath. Toyota still cannot deliver a single competitive mass production EV. They are a long way from this.  
• Lordstown Endurance => Fleet only
• Canoo Pickup Truck => Not relevant competition
• Hercules Alpha => pickup project abandoned in favor of marine drivetrain development
• Nissan Titan EV => not real, based on Hercules Alpha platform near as I can tell
• Alpha Wolf/Wolf+/Superwolf => I doubt this is ever doing anything, but I love the design...

So from my perspective, a meaningful mid-sized competition to Rivian is something that can find a home in the market, especially if it leverages the Endurance platform and the Foxconn relationship. 

@bayoubob The Lordstown Endurance platform has wheel hub motors so would not want to see that for the Alaska.  Lordstown is working with Foxconn for additional vehicles using Foxconn's EV platform that Fisker could use but I imagine they would be better off using their existing Ocean (Magna) platform.

As far as competition, there are some in the rumor mills - VW Scout; Rivian R2T; Ford Maverick/Ranger EV.  What VW does with the Scout brand is the most interesting to me.

I would be interested in one.  As a home owner, I can see a lot of use for the bed in a truck.  If Fisker can get the Ocean delivery going smoothly and I am happy with my Ocean Ultra, I will definitely prefer the Alaska over the Pear.

I’m not a truck guy- or really even an SUV guy, but if they can make the Alaska perform like a sports crossover, a la the Ocean, I could be tempted.

if Fisker ever came out with a 4 door coupe that has a bit of an Audi S5 /BMW M-Series vibe to it and still gets well over 300 miles range, I would be very interested.

I would definitely line up first in line for an Alaska-based 3 row SUV like the Rivian.

I think we learned a lot about the Alaska today. Most important, it will be built on the Ocean Platform. That means we will be looking at a pickup that has the length of something from a Hyundai SantaCruz (195") to Ford Ranger length (210") than Rivian (217") / Jeep Gladiator (218") and the width more like a Rivian (78") than a Gladiator/Ranger (~74"). I expect it will share much of the suspension with the off-road Ocean e-Force variant being launched this year. Extrapolating from the above, we can guess at around 330 miles EPA range. 

@bayoubob perfect size for 95% of household chores, Home Depot runs and landscaping material/nursery shopping. Anything more involved you rent a uhaul for $20 + mileage.

@bayoubob Yes, I'm betting the Alaska will be very close to the size of the SantaCruz.
