So. I just saw today that Tesla has lowered prices pretty significantly in China. MY is now starting at ~$38k in China now. What happens to the Ocean if/when those prices hit the EU/AU/US? If those price cuts land in the USA or EU, what happens to the Ocean? These prices if they come about destroy the value prop of the Fisker Ocean... Of course this is all speculation, but if these prices hit outside of China, I know I would absolutely buy
Model Y SR - ~$38k
Model Y LR AWD - ~$45k
Model Y P - ~$52k
I would buy the MY awd LR for $45k in a heartbeat for the wife and take the $15 k we could get for her 2018 Beetle in the used car market. $30k is a steal, but i dont see tesla lowering price in the US like that.
Will I get my Fisker One delivered before my VW needs its 100K service?? The race is on..
and…… will we still get the $7500 tax credit? Only HF knows…
I too would consider it. I'd get a LR MY.
Seems whilst Fisker is cutting corners and more corners and a few more corners, Tesla are giving back the corners as discount.
And remmeber branding. Tesla in the eyes of Joe public has a massive brand. It's the Mercedes of the EV industry..the one everyone emulates and tries to beat. They are the benchmark.
Fisker... No one (as in 99% of the population) has ever heard of. Beyond enthusiasts and those looking for EV many even in the UK won't have contemplated a Fisker. Even me... I came across it by accident and then out a deposit for it in July 2022.

Now is your chance! This is going to be a major blow to Fisker.
• Model 3 RWD: $43,990 (from $46,990, a 6.4% drop)
• Model 3 P: $53,990 ($62,990, 14.2% drop)
• Model Y Long Range: $52,990 (from $65,990, a 20% drop)
• Model Y P: $56,990 (from $69,990, a 18.6% drop)

I spec’d a MY Long Range for a little bit kore than $$54k. Essentially a near $20k savings off my reserved ONE.
if this thing had a 4-6 month wait time I’d pull the trigger with a deposit
BTW, the configurator/order page for Tesla is an absolute joy. Anyone at #Fisker taking note??

Here in Denmark the Y Performance is cheaper than the Extreme.
And the range is supposedly 60 miles shorter (WLTP) on the Tesla.
But I would not choose this anyway because of the looks.
I have always found the Y looked a little strange, like an inflated model 3, its just too high.
The Model Y is just a bit of a blob to look at. Fisker definitely wins on design.
But Tesla is a proven company with deliveries available Q1 in the UK. Their technology works - something we know Fisker has been struggling with. Tesla seems much less unlikely to run out of cash and go out of business.
Tesla seems the safe bet, but it is ugly.
Yes Tesla is a proven company, and they got great software. Bet still one of my friends, wants to go back from Tesla model Y to Mercedes. The seats and comfort in the Tesla is not as good as the Mercedes he owned. And he finds the ride very hard, and the car to actually have more noise. And he does not like Teslas Adaptive Cruise Control, which he finds reacts on things it shouldnt. So even Tesla has something to learn, talking about the "whole" car. And ride comfort, seat quality and noise level of the Ocean remains to be seen. And of course their software. I cannot wait for a real life test 🙂
Ugly car... but i am considering it given what you say. Also MY and M3 are not Luxury cars. I dont think sold as Luxury cars unlike say MX and MS. This si why my hopes for interior for Ocean was higher given it was expelcity advertised as luxury. I think internally, M3/MY interior quality would be beated by mid range audi/Mecedes.
In UK MY:LR --> 54k now in any colour. Plus delvieres weeks to months
Ocean Extreme in Horizone Greay 61.2K + may be 1.5k delivery charge.
@drshahali10 Yes I have to admit that you are probably right. The Y and 3 are not considered Lyxury cars. They are the most sold here in DK, when you take imported nearly new ones into consideration. But just came to consider that, even as the Model 3 is seen everywhere, it´s not cheap enough, to be the car for average Joe. Will be interesting to see the first Tesla model 2 or VW ID 2. To really get a car cheap enough ( with decent range ). 🙂
At 55k out the door with destination fee excl taxes on a MY LR, I think I'm out of the Ocean. I don't like the exterior of the Model Y but the software, support, and supercharging network is too hard to ignore compared to the Ocean at this price. I'd get autopilot, which includes adaptive cruise control, included instead of paying another 6k for the Fi-pilot. Fisker played their cards too close to their hand and will now pay for it with lost reservations like mine. At least they'll get to keep the free $250 ugh.
The only thing that would keep me on the Ocean now is if Fisker cuts prices or includes basic shit like ACC on the base price.

I think you're right here. There are so many open questions, an unfinished software platform and an absence of real world tests.
A year ago, the Fisker looked like a risk, but good value for money. Great design, a promise of 'best in the world' features, luxury quality, sporty performance, and all sustainable too. Slowly these promises have unfolded and when comparing the Extreme, in particular, with alternatives, it looks heavily overpriced for the quality ands spec.
This uncertainty will undoubtely lose Fisker customers, and Tesla has the scale, and Elon Muck has the motivation, to take full advantage.
Note... I wanted to compare the Ocean Extreme with the new Lotus.... I don't know if this is a glitch, but the Fisker configuration is currently showing the Fisker One Package as included on the Extreme. That might make a difference?
Or was that always the case? 🙂
Ignore my foolishness!
This is looking like a really compelling offer... Do you think it's because they need to move more cars or are they also trying to put a price squeeze on the recent entrants to their competitive landscape?
Would there be any benefit to ordering in late February vs Now from a model year/feature standpoint on the Model Y.
