"Fisker reported a second-quarter loss of $106 million, or 36 cents a share. Analysts on average expected a loss of 41 cents a share, according to FactSet. Reservations for the company's first electric vehicle topped 56,000, up from 45,000 reported in May. The car is expected to start production on Nov. 17. Fisker reported more than $850 million in cash and equivalents as of the end of the quarter, and said that would be sufficient to fund the production launch as well as development through the end of the year.
