I agree with your comparison.
Thie Fisker Ocean has the lead on style, and high tech, but it is not a high performance vehicle. Based on the reviews of the guy who actually got to drove the Ocean, I believe that to Extreme has some serious competition.
Add to that the fact that Chevy will most likely be eligible for the tax credit, I am in the same boat as many Ocean One reservist's, who may be willing to walk away from the $5000 deposit, to go for the Blazer. The SS version will be available in Q3 2023, and, for the long run, i believe in the longevity of Chevy, versus the Fisker, at this point.
Henrick has done a lousy job, or his marketing department, of withholding critical performance and other specifications. These cars are in initial production, so there is no reason to hold out on these specifications, especially for the holders of the One reservations.
I have some time before my lock date comes up, but really guys and gals, this is an issue.
Fisker Ocean One - Blue Planet - Sea Salt - F6 Vortex - Tow hitch - Build #1425 - Delivered July 20th, 2023
Thank you. I have a locked-in reservation for the Ultra and we will have to wait for whichever build comes up 1st and then make a decision.
Thanks Jim! That Chevy looks better than I thought it would. I'm locked on the One for now, but if that turns out to be a dud I guess I could sell it and go for a Blazer in '24. That is as long as the Chevy dealers don't get on the markup train...
I haven't contacted the dealership yet to check on markups, but a lot are relaxing on that. The manufacturers are starting to be able to push out more supply so there is a good chance markups will start to disappear.
The big question for me is whether GM will be able to get its "stuff" together and produce decent software and a true OTA upgradable vehicle. This article reviews the new complete POJ Tahoe system. Like all GM software in is horrible junk. The Blazer is supposed to have the so-called "ultifi" software which we now know is really Android Automotive. That in itself is fine but we need to see if GM's implementation of it is decent. If the new Tahoe in any indication - built on a three-generation old version of AA and a seven year old processor - then the rest is irrelevant.
I have one of these on Reservation so we shall see....
